Meet Darren Loew, D.D.S.
Dr. Darren Loew feels that orthodontics is the most rewarding profession on Earth. It allows him to have a unique relationship with children at a formative time in their lives.
Orthodontics also enables Dr. Loew to help adults get better oral health and often do something they’ve always wanted but couldn’t afford to do previously: show off a beautiful smile!
Community Involvement
Dr. Loew is very involved in the community as a local business owner and loves knowing, seeing, and interacting with many wonderful people in and out of the office.
He’s been involved in the Rotary Club for many years and recently held the title of president of his chapter. He visits local schools and speaks to the third-grade classes about their dental health during Children’s Dental Health Month in February.
Dr. Loew is also involved with other charities through Loew & Patel Orthodontics, including the fundraiser the office runs with Autism NJ every spring.
Each November, the office also hosts its annual Candy Buy Back to collect candy to donate to the troops. The office gives patients $1 for each pound of candy — an amount matched by Dr. Loew and Dr. Patel — and donates all the money to HOPs (Hunterdon Outreach Programs).
Once a year, the office also throws a Patient Appreciation Day (PAD) to show patients how much they mean to Dr. Loew, Dr. Patel, and the rest of the smile. Loew & Patel Orthodontics just had their 14th annual PAD in September!
Education & Experience
Dr. Loew attended Bucknell University, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and education. He completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and his orthodontic residency at Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Loew also serves on the faculty at Washington Hospital Center, where he teaches orthodontic residents. Teaching helps him to keep up with the latest that orthodontics can offer while giving back to the profession he loves.
Dr. Loew also attends many continuing education courses throughout the year.
Outside of the Office
Dr. Loew is married to his wonderful wife, Liz, whom he met in college. They have four amazing children — Sarah, Katie, Meredith, and David — with whom he loves spending time and enjoys watching grow.
When he has free time, he enjoys physical fitness, skiing, traveling, and playing golf.
